Taylor Swift has become a uncommon pop sensation: A star who strayed completely from country music to pop culture, becoming an iconic pop star that is set to be around forever, and will conquer every corner of the globe. Swift has shed her roots in the country as if they were second skins, revealing herself to be the most savvy pop singer/songwriter of her time. Swift is able to tap into the current trend and make it her own. Fearless became a worldwide hit, not only in North America (where it was certified with six platinum awards for Top Ten Hits Love Story as well as "You Belong with Me") but in Canada, Australia as well as the U.K. and other countries. Swift's new album, Speak Now, released nearly two years following the debut, further consolidated the success of this album. The album propelled Swift to superstardom. She grew in popularity throughout the three albums that followed - Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift was now firmly established within a genre where she belonged. However, even when she reduced her approach with 2020's stripped-down sibling releases folklore and Evermore she remained atop the pop world a position that she maintained through re-recordings from her back catalog along with Midnights the top charting synth heavy 2022 set.
