Bashar Barakah (July 19th, 1999 - Feb. 19 2019) is professionally referred to by the name of Pop Smoke was an American singer and songwriter. The label he was signed to was Victor Victor Worldwide and Republic Records. Pop Smoke became popular because of his Brooklyn drill style after collaborating in collaboration with UK drill producers 808Melo Axl Beats, Yoz Beatz, and 808Melo Axl Beats. Welcome to the Party, the single off his mixtape debut Meet the Woo released in July 2019, was released by him on April 19th, 2019. In August two remixes of his track Welcome to the Party featuring American rapper Nicki Minaj and British singer Skepta came out. In April of 2019 Pop Smoke released his breakout single Welcome to the Party the song that was the lead track on the mixtape he released as his debut album, Meet the Woo (2019). In August of 2019, the track was remixed two times, one time with Nicki Minaj featuring and another time featuring Skepta. It was noted that the song was made using UK drill-produced music, and would later be seen on his complete discography. The collaborations between 808Melo and British drill producer 808Melo may be one of the reasons for this. Mpr Flexin is another single well-known. As a result of the popularity of Welcome to the Party and others singles like War featuring Lil Tjay & 100k On the Road with Calboy and Calboy, he started collaborating with other artists on songs. In December 2019 he collaborated on Gatti along with JackBoys and Travis Scott which is the last track on The JackBoys (2019) album released by Scott as well as members of his Cactus Jack members.
